Katie and Walker were married in July 2021 during a brief window in the COVID era when masks were not required. What was originally planned as a spring wedding reception on the lawn of the Mint Museum in Charlotte became a warm summer celebration under an air-conditioned tent in the same location. With guests spread between the tent and lawn for comfort, the day was filled with love, joy, and the excitement of a long-awaited celebration.

A collection of blue-and-white porcelain, both collected and borrowed, inspired the wedding décor. Arrangements of blue and white blooms filled the porcelain vessels, while white hydrangeas and other seasonal flowers adorned the church. Bridesmaids wore navy dresses of their own choosing, blue-and-white patterned linens dressed the tables, and a black-and-white checkered dance floor served as the reception's focal point. Timeless, elegant, and classic—just like the bride and groom.
